The Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center’s Child Protection Program is seeking a BC/BE general or developmental pediatrician with training in child abuse pediatrics to serve as medical consultant to a multidisciplinary child protection team. Responsibilities in this .5 FTE position will include providing expert consultation on suspected child maltreatment cases on the inpatient services, the Emergency Department and the ambulatory clinics of the Floating Hospital and other affiliated hospitals. There will also be opportunities to teach medical students, pediatric and surgical subspecialty house staff and faculty, nurses and social workers.

 The ideal candidate will bring significant experience and competence in the medico-legal aspects of child abuse pediatrics. Leadership and administrative skills as well as interest in pursuing answers to critical research questions in child maltreatment are highly desirable. This position may be combined with hospitalist or other opportunities within the Department of Pediatrics, tailored to the talents and interests of the successful applicant. 

 The Floating Hospital for Children is a 128 bed full-service Children’s Hospital, and is part of Tufts Medical Center, the principal teaching hospital for Tufts University School of Medicine.
