The Department of Pediatrics at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine is recruiting a Director for the Child Maltreatment Program. This is a full-time academic position with rank commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate. The Director of this program will report to the Chairman of Pediatrics. The position offers competitive compensation with a generous benefit package and the potential for academic advancement. The newly created position of Director of Pediatric Child Maltreatment will permit development of a broad and robust program to include a primarily hospital-based inpatient service, an outpatient service, a consultative service and the establishment of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Pediatric Child Abuse. The Vanderbilt Department of Pediatrics and Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital are committed to supporting and expanding this program through new and existing resources. The position focuses primarily on clinical service, undergraduate and graduate medical education, and includes protected time for clinical research and program development.  The ideal candidate possesses outstanding clinical and teaching skills and a strong interest in research and advocacy.  All interested individuals must be eligible for the Child Abuse Pediatrics American Board of Pediatric Subspecialty exam and be a Board-certified pediatrician trained in the evaluation of child abuse and neglect through fellowship training or experience.  Information and details about the Department, the Children’s Hospital and Vanderbilt University are available at http://pediatrics.mc.vanderbilt.edu/
