Connecticut Children’s
Medical
Center seeks a
full-time Child Abuse Pediatrician to join the staff of Hartford Regional Child
Abuse Services. Our staff perform inpatient and outpatient consultations for
suspected child abuse and neglect at Connecticut Children’s Medical
Center,
a 147-bed free standing Children’s Hospital which is part of a Level 1 Trauma
Center and has an 18-bed PICU. We also evaluate children at the Aetna Foundation
Children’s Center, a fully accredited Children’s
Advocacy
Center
at St.
Francis
Hospital and
Medical
Center.
Current program staff include 1.9 FTE medical providers (two MDs and one APRN),
2.5 FTE diagnostic interviewers, 3.5 FTE family advocates, 2.5 FTE mental health
clinicians, 0.5 FTE outreach/education coordinator, and 3.5 FTE
support/administrative staff.
This position offers excellent opportunities for clinical practice, teaching,
research, and advocacy. CT Children’s has active trauma and injury prevention
programs, and we participate with a strong network of community
multidisciplinary teams in our region. This position offers a competitive salary
and benefit package, and academic appointment will be offered at the University
of Connecticut School of Medicine commensurate with qualifications. Candidates
for the position must be board eligible for subspecialty certification in child
abuse pediatrics.
